A local starting point for a statewide ambition. Review the proposed pilot and find existing Montgomery County resources.
OUR WORKING STARTING AREA
Start in Montgomery County. Build the pathway together.
Montgomery is the team's chosen starting focus. We are developing the first pilot around Montgomery County, Texas, including the city of Montgomery. The exact service boundary and receiving provider still need to be agreed.
Planning, not an open assistance program. Four Walls Texas currently offers public resource information and private property-owner inquiries. We have not confirmed a delivery partner, rental assistance, shelter beds or client applications. Donations are not open.
For local referrals, call 2-1-1 or 877-541-7905. Check directly with each provider before traveling. Eligibility, hours, transport and availability vary; a referral or assessment does not guarantee housing.
REGIONAL HOUSING PATHWAY
The Way Home / CFTH
The Way Home's coordinated-entry system covers Montgomery, Harris and Fort Bend counties. A participating provider can explain assessment and possible next steps. CFTH does not provide onsite services for people experiencing homelessness.
Its website describes practical support and transitional housing, subject to application and availability. It states that it does not provide emergency housing. Review the current program guidance and contact the provider directly.
Describes a 90-day program for families with children, working with local congregations. Ask directly about current requirements, capacity and the next step.
Official websites reviewed October 15, 2026. These organizations are independent resources and prospective organizations to learn from. They are not confirmed Four Walls Texas partners or verified vacancies.
THE PROPOSED LOCAL PILOT
A useful introduction. A clear next step.
Learn what an existing provider needs.
Agree the service boundary, household focus, unit types, rent ranges, support capacity and receiving contact before making introductions.
Prepare willing property owners.
Review current availability and owner authority. Before sharing details, ask permission for the specified information and the named provider.
Confirm acceptance and follow up.
The provider must accept the introduction and lead eligibility, assessment, housing placement and tenancy support. An inquiry alone creates no lease, funding or placement commitment.
Review the first pathway.
Begin with a bounded workload agreed by the team and provider. Use an initial six-week operating review after launch readiness; the public 90-day preparation sequence remains a proposal, not a guaranteed opening date.
Scott is the initial inquiry lead and Debra is the backup. Before launch, confirm their operating authority and coverage, an accountable organization, written provider responsibilities, an agreed capacity limit, owner permissions, private records, escalation arrangements and any resources needed for the obligations accepted. The team must document its launch decision.
Montgomery is a starting focus within a statewide ambition. The website's Texas-wide resource finder remains available. Additional regions and direct assistance require their own approved capacity, funding and provider arrangements.
